These terms cover your use of Cairo Tourism Guide (www.cairotourism.org). Reading the site means accepting them. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable.
What this site is
Cairo Tourism Guide publishes free travel guides to Cairo and the sites around it. It is an independent publication with no connection to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian Tourism Authority, or any government body, and it is not a travel agency, tour operator, or booking service. Nothing here is an official statement about Egypt, and nothing here can be booked.
Information, not advice
The guides are researched carefully and sourced where they can be, but they are general information published for a wide audience. They are not personal advice about your trip, and they are not professional advice of any kind — not legal advice on visas or entry, not medical advice on vaccination or health risk, not financial advice on currency or payment, and not a security assessment.
Decisions about your own travel are yours. For anything consequential, check the primary source: your government’s travel advice for safety, Egypt’s official e-visa portal and your nearest Egyptian consulate for entry, and a medical professional for health.
Cairo changes, and so does this site
Every guide here is accurate to the best of our knowledge on the day it was written or last revised. A number of things in Cairo move faster than a written guide:
- Prices. Admission at Giza, Saqqara, the Egyptian Museum and the Grand Egyptian Museum is revised periodically, and the Egyptian pound has moved sharply against major currencies. Figures here are indicative, not quotations, and the currency conversions are approximations.
- Opening hours and access. Sites close for restoration, adjust hours for Ramadan and public holidays, and occasionally shut at short notice. Individual chambers, tombs and galleries open and close on their own schedule.
- Businesses. Restaurants, hotels, cafes and operators named here can change hands, change standards, or close. Naming one is not a guarantee about it.
- Travel conditions. Safety guidance, entry requirements and health rules are set by governments and can change without notice.
Confirm anything time-sensitive or expensive before you rely on it. If you find something out of date, the contact page is the fastest route to getting it fixed.
Mentions are not endorsements or recommendations you are owed
Where a hotel, restaurant, guide or operator is named, it is because it is worth knowing about. No one pays to appear on this site and no one can. Some booking links do earn us a commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you, and that never affects whether something is named here — the affiliate disclosure explains how it works. Equally, no responsibility is accepted for your dealings with any third party you find through these pages. Any contract you enter into is between you and them.
Links to other websites
The guides link out to official sources and to third-party businesses so you can check claims and act on them. Those sites are outside our control. We are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their handling of your data, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

The written guides on this site are original work and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read them, print a page for your own trip, and quote a short passage with a credit and a link back. Republishing a guide in whole or in substantial part, on a website or anywhere else, is not permitted without written permission.
Images are used under the licences of their respective sources and remain the property of their photographers or rights holders. If you believe material here infringes your copyright, write in through the contact page identifying the material and the page it is on, and it will be removed while the claim is examined.
Acceptable use
Please do not scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for other readers, attempt to gain access to any part of it you are not meant to reach, or use the contact form to send unsolicited commercial messages. Automated bulk copying of the guides for republication elsewhere is not permitted.
Availability
The site is provided as it is, without any warranty that it will be available uninterrupted, error-free, or free of anything harmful. Pages are added, revised and occasionally removed without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Cairo Tourism Guide is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here — including travel costs, missed visits, changed prices, or any dealings with a third party named on these pages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

What this site collects and why is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the site’s publisher is established, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised. The date at the top of the page shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a revision means accepting it.
